And the instructions are very slight and won't tell you how to switch languages. Also, it comes with a charger with a European plug, so if you want to charge it before you leave the states, you'll need an adapter. I managed to charged the phone and switch to English before I left (google translations sure helped!). If this happens to you, here's how to change the language:
First, the keypad locks after a few seconds of inactivity - press the star key for a couple of seconds to unlock.
Second, push the "OK" key to get the menu.
Third, navigate to the lower right corner menu item and press "OK"
Fouth, scroll down to the 4th menu item and press "OK"
Fifth - the first item in the next menu is language - press "OK" and you should see "english" as one of the options - scroll down to "english" and press "OK" - that's it!
Other than this, the phone worked great while I was in Europe - call quality was fine, the battery lasted for several days, and the phone is small and light.
